Simon Diemert is a 4th year Software Engineering student at the University of Victoria in Victoria BC, Canada. He is interested in the applications of technology in medicine and the life sciences, in particular health information sciences and the integration of artificial intelligence technologies to new and existing health informatics systems.
Simon works extensively with web technologies and has experience developing web services ranging from static web pages to full blown web applications. His experience in web design led him to be the co-founder of sonicwavs technologies inc. a free and legal method of distributing music service.
During the summer of 2013 Simon become involved with UVic's AERO team, which is a group of undergraduate students who are involved with research, design and implementation of aeronautical devices with the goal of competing in various challenges throughout North America. Simon is currently the IT Lead for the team and is also heavily involved with the software development of the systems for team's aircraft.
Simon is also heavily involved with Science Venture a program run at the University of Victoria with a mission to inspire youth to purse their interests (and careers) in the areas of Science Technology Engineering and Math. Simon enjoys working with the robotics and computer science programs offered by Science Venture.
